Memorial Day is celebrated on May 26th, to honor and remember those who have served our country, and for some, it is a time to remember family members who have passed. The unofficial beginning of summer, the three day Memorial Day Weekend is a time to gather with friends and family with picnics and barbecues, special events and more. 13th Annual Blues Festival – Silver City, NM:  Held May 23-25, this premier blues festival features live blues concerts with Guitar Slim; Edie and the Silver Blue Roots; Big Pete Pearson & Rhythm Room Allstars; Sherman Robertson; Albuquerque Blues Connection; Zac Harmon; Alex Maryol; Chris Dracup; John Mooney; Jen Exten Trio, Pat Dutton & Pat Chase; and Marie Knight. Memorial Weekend Wildflower & Art Show – Idyllwild, CA: Join the Idyllwild Nature Center, as they celebrate 30 years of their Wildflower extravaganza! This event runs from May 23-26 and features a meet and greet with the filmmakers of “Season of the Sand Blossoms,” Peter and Melanie Rhalter; native flower display; and Native Plant and Book sale; art exhibits; guest speakers; naturalist-led walks; kids activities, live music and more.
