Kitchen
Sink Queso
Compliments
of Don Reha, Winemaker,
Thornton Winery.
“Our 2005 Moscato is a perfect match with what I
call "Kitchen Sink Queso". Because the Moscato
is lightly sweet, it pairs well with this spicy
appetizer type dish. Lemony aromas and citrus
are abundant in this wine, with flavors of
melon, pineapple, and mango. The juicy fruit
finish is just right to cool down the heat from
the queso, especially when served well chilled.
Ingredients
Velveta cheese (regular or fiesta) or Que Bueno
nacho cheese sauce (Costco)
Pace picanté sauce
Cilantro - finely diced
Dennison's spicy chili w/ beans
Roma tomatoes - diced
Chili powder
Canned cut Jalapenos
White onion - diced
Directions
Combine the cheese, picantè sauce, chili, onion, and
a touch of the juice from the jalapenos in desired
portions.
Heat the mixture and combine well.
Season to taste with chili powder, then add cilantro
and tomatoes, and mix.
Garnish with jalapenos, sour cream, or guacamole if
desired.
