Originally established in 1752 as a Spanish
presidio, Tubac has become a popular
destination for art lovers, outdoor
enthusiasts, birders and history buffs. In
Old Tubac, working artists' studios now
surround the Tubac Presidio State Historic
Park and the grounds which once served as a
Spanish military garrison. La Entrada de
Tubac welcomes visitors at the very front of
the Tubac Village, with a collection of
elegant galleries, restaurants, shops and
services, bridging the old and new elements
of the community. La Entrada de Tubac is
also home to the Tubac Visitor’s Center
which serves as a Tourist Information Center
for Tubac and the surrounding communities of
Santa Cruz County.
La
Entrada de Tubac is currently undergoing a
large expansion of its space. When completed
in early 2008, the project will be a Tubac
destination featuring over 50 tenants, which
will include an addition of new galleries,
specialty shops to include jewelry,
clothing, herbal, gifts, photography
and authentic Mexican Restaurants. The
collection will also include a Tubac
business center that will house a bank, real
estate companies, Title Companies, design
center, chiropractic, dental, skin care,
wellness and other services. The
construction activity is so staged not to
interrupt current Tenant’s business. All
shops are currently open.
