Pearls
& Moonstones – June Stones
By Bonnie McMillan of New Age Concepts
Pearl is the birthstone for the month of June. It is also the accepted anniversary gemstone for the 3rd and 30th years of marriage. A pearl is the product of an oyster's defense mechanism. When a foreign matter is introduced to the oyster either by man (cultured) or naturally, the oyster surrounds it with layers of nacre. This is what forms the gemstone pearl.
Pearls come in a wide range of colors like white, black, grey, pinkish, yellowish and bluish grey. Pearls that are more round shape are better. The higher the luster - the more valuable the pearl is, and the larger the pearl - the greater the value is.
Pearl
is known as the stone of sincerity, faith charity, and
innocence. It enhances personal integrity and helps you
to focus your attention.
The other stone for June is Moonstone. The properties of moonstone are balancing, introspective, and reflective - resonating to the moon. It can help with changing one’s life on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. The energy relates to new beginnings. It allows one to absorb that which is needed from that which is wanted. It is the stone for feeling and understanding, intuition and emotional thoughts. It also brings insight. It enhances intuitive recognition and helps one to apply the intuitive knowledge in a practical sense. It also enhances perception and discernment, allowing one to make decisions. It can be used to alleviate emotional tension and to enhance the positive attributes of creativity and self-expression. It cleanses negativity from the chakras. It enhances the feminine aspect of ones nature. It stimulates confidence and composure.
