May 10: The Pony Express Rides Again! Come join the fun as the Pony Express thunders from Palm Springs into Pioneertown at 1pm on Saturday, May 10. Last year the riders were unharmed, but the Pioneertown Posse had their hands full protecting citizens from the Black Rock Gang. 2008 is the 14th running of the Pioneertown Pony Express. Two commemorative stamps are designed every year for this event: a $5 Pony Express Stamp, and a U.S. Post Office cancellation stamp. Mail delivered via Pony Express will be specially hand cancelled, and must include 41 cent first class postage as well as the $5 Pony Express Stamp.
